The eighth edition of the International Shortfilmfestival shnit takes place from the 6th – 10th of October 2010 in Bern, Switzerland and simultaneously in Cologne, Germany. The thriving and vibrant festival offers an ideal platform to show your short films to an large audience and to compete in the international competition shnit Open.
shnit Awards 2009
This year’s International Shortfilm Festival shnit 09 was a big succes with more than 22′000 visitors. In the international competition, the three winners of the shnit-Awards are Khen Shalem with „Ba-derech le Tel-Aviv“, Laurie Hill with „Photograph Of Jesus“ and Michael Fortune with „Terminal Communication“. Rafael Bolliger convinced the audience with his film „Fallen“ and wins the realtime competition 2009. Chris Niemeyer wins the Swiss Award 2009 with „Las Pelotas“ and Julia Kaiser wins the German Award 2009 with “Amoklove”. The audience price goes to Márton Szirmai for his film “Szalontüdo”.

On Sunday evening, the four competitions of shnit 09 will close with a blazing finale: The filmmakers and their artworks will be honoured at the shnit Awards Night, plus the three short films from the realtime competition celebrate their world premiere in front of 600 spectators!

Team 1 around director Claudia Lorenz has finished the first short movie. Rafael Bolliger is editing his film sequences at the Progr and Tommy Kreiselmaier has arrived with his crew from London. He’s shooting at the Progr at the moment! Watch them!

The 7th edition of the shnit international shortfilmfestival will take place from october 7 – 11 at the same time in Berne, Switzerland and Cologne, Germany. shnit will thus be a truly international festival! Everything about the festival can now be found on this website!
