Swiss Award

Swissmade guarantees the extensive Swiss short film production. Five works out of the international competition and a selection of fresh swiss films are competing for the jury price «Swiss Award 2009», salaried with CHF 5’000.

Jury

Rolf Schmid (*1950) has been playing an active role in the film industry since 1975. From 1980 onwards he has been working as a producer for the Filmkollektiv Zürich and since 1987 for Fama Film AG. He is president of the Association of Swiss Film Producers.

Horst D. Scheel (*1950) has been active within the film industry since 1975. He was working as an assistant director in the USA, has founded his own casting agency and was acting in several feature films and series. Recently he has been in charge of the casting for several German feature films.

Joris Gratwohl (*1973) After being a professionel soccer player in the team of the FC Aarau he attended acting schools in Zurich (1996-1999) and San Diego. Among other appearances he acted for two years in the successful Swiss serial Lüthi and Blanc. In Germany he acted for the serial Alarm für Cobra 11 and many other serials and feature films.

Thomas Allenbach ist (*1960) is a film journalist and cultural editor of the Bernese daily newspaper Der Bund. He lives in Berne.
